Hi, I’m Alexanne!
I struggled with acne for over 2 years, but my issues ran much deeper—nearly 5 years of bloating, food sensitivities, rashes, and flares I couldn’t get a grip on. I also dealt with eczema and mysterious skin reactions that would come and go with no clear pattern.
I tried everything—from tea tree oil and DIY face masks to expensive skincare routines, constant exfoliation, and switching between every skin product and “clean” brand I could find.
I went down every diet rabbit hole: Whole30, sugar fasting, paleo, candida cleanses, no grains, no dairy, no meat, no gluten, no eggs… you name it, I cut it. I spent years avoiding the very foods that are actually the most nourishing—like butter, meat, fruit, milk—because I believed they were the problem.
I took dozens of supplements: anti-microbials, antifungals, probiotics, isolated nutrients, essential oils (internally and externally), parasite cleanses, heavy metal detoxes. I fasted. I went to extremes. And yet… my skin didn’t budge.
I took dairy out of my diet for 9 years. 7 years for gluten. A full year without eggs. The food fear was so deep that I couldn’t imagine eating like a “normal” person again. I wouldn’t leave the house without makeup. I felt like I was doing everything right—but my body told a different story.
Eventually, I realized: if health means working this hard, something isn’t adding up. Why are so many people healthy without obsessing over every bite, every product, every symptom? Why was I cutting out the most natural, ancestral foods in the name of healing?
That moment cracked something open.
What actually worked was a completely different approach. I slowed down and rethought everything I believed about acne. I started nourishing instead of restricting. I calmed my nervous system. I worked on safety, metabolism, and trust. Most importantly, I believed I could heal.
Today, I don’t check my skin in every mirror. I don’t panic over a pimple. I eat gluten, dairy, meat, eggs, fruit, sugar—all the foods I feared—and my skin stays calm. I’ve stopped blaming food for my symptoms and started using them as signals to take care of myself.
Healing didn’t come from perfect diets, endless supplements, or rigid routines. It came from coming back to myself—reconnecting with body cues, learning to listen, softening my grip, and enjoying life again.
